Long Hair Cuts and The Heat
Those with long hair cuts need quick ideas and fixes for the Summer Heat. Is your hair showing signs of wear from the elements? No sweat! There's a lot you could do with that long hair of yours!
Here are a couple basic tricks you probably already know but temporarily forgot when the heat hit:
• Before getting in the pool, rinse your hair with a garden hose, or even jump into the shower. Hair can be like a sponge, in a way, and if it is already saturated with fresh water, it won't soak up so much of the chlorine. After wetting your hair, you could use a leave-in conditioner, which could help your hair maintain its moisture and from turning green.
• For a quick fix, you can wrap your hair into a loose bun and, using a gentle hand, mist with a water spritzer. Take the bun out a few minutes later for cascading, frizz-free waves that leave you cool and fresh.
• A big, floppy straw hat, is a great way to protect your hair from ultraviolet rays. There are also UV-blocking leave-in hair treatments available in most stores that you can buy for your hair.
• Put your hair up in a bun, twist, or even just a plain ‘ol ponytail to relieve your neck and back from the heat. You'll find yourself cooling off instantly. If you find yourself still panting to get cool, splash water on your face and/or run cool water over your wrists until you feel relief. It really does work!
Those are just a few ideas to get you started in cooling down naturally during the summer. Experiment with your own creative ideas and see what works best for you and your hair!
